Why do I write? All thanks for getting into the writing business goes to our three sons. When they were small I would read story after story to them. I got to thinking, hey, you've always wanted to write, give it a go. So I did. I write readers, which gives me a great deal of satisfaction. It's a lovely thought knowing that an idea that started at the kitchen sink while I was peeling spuds finishes up in Africa, China or wherever, helping young children learn to read. I love a challenge and I love to be creative so writing fits the bill perfectly. Admittedly there are times when being a writer isn't all that wonderful - the rejection letter bit. But it's all part of the writing process. As long as ideas keep cropping up at the kitchen sink, I'll be writing for a few years yet!
