New Zealand Book Council school membership

What your membership entitles you to

  • The opportunity to arrange one free half-day visit by a New Zealand children's writer or illustrator as part of our Writers in Schools programme.
  • A subscription to our quarterly magazine, Booknotes, which provides a lively mix of news, views and discussion of books, writers, writing, the New Zealand books community and the Book Council's programmes.
  • A dedicated school e-newsletter twice each term, keeping you up to date with cut-off dates, tours on the move, and other information relevant to school members.
  • Every second e-newsletter will feature The School Library, an e-publication dedicated to the review of children's books, information about writers available in the Writers in Schools programme, and themes relevant to teachers of literacy.
  • A free, full-colour poster from our Literary Pin-ups series, featuring leading New Zealand writers.
  • Secondary schools are entitled to one free WordSpace DVD with a new membership (additional WordSpace DVDs can be purchased at a reduced rate)
  • Entry in a quarterly prize draw of books for your school library, announced in The School Library.

Cost

School membership costs $80 per school year.
