Writers in Schools booking form

Welcome to the Writers in Schools booking form. This form is designed to help us find the ideal writer for your school. Complete each section below, and Writers in Schools writers who meet your criteria will be recommended at the top of the panel to the right. If you need help or clarification at any point, just click on the Need help? text to the right of each section.

We recommend that before you begin completing the form, you clarify with all the teachers involved in your school visit what you hope to get out of the visit for your students. This will assist your progress through the form and will become useful when it is time for you to brief your writer further about the visit.  Please note that although we would like to give every member school a free visit, due to funding restrictions this is not viable. Get in quick to secure your visit. Your school will need to be a member of the Book Council before your booking can be confirmed.

You receive $100 worth of travel for the writer as part of your free half-day session, however this often only allows for a local writer visit. If you are able to pay extra expenses, you can participate in tours, and request visitors from outside of your area. We inform schools as soon as possible of any extra expenses associated with a visit.
