The Writers Files
Welcome to the New Zealand Book Council’s Writers Files, the most comprehensive collection of information about New Zealand writers on the Internet.
Click on a letter below or use the box to quickly search among more than 500 individual author files, indexed alphabetically by surname. Click here to search if you have javascript disabled.
At the heart of the Writers Files are 150 entries reprinted from the Oxford Companion to New Zealand Literature (Ed. Roger Robinson and Nelson Wattie, 1998).
The Book Council augments this resource by adding pages for authors not currently featured in the Companion, and by supplementing Companion entries with new information.
These additional entries and the additional information have been written by Kate Camp, Theresa Crewdson, Justine Clifton, Esme Gibbons, Sarah Hughes, Alexandra Keeble, Laura Kroetsch, Kirsten McDougall, Rachel O’Neill and other Book Council staff members. Thanks to all of these contributors to this valuable resource.
Please check back regularly as the Writers Files are a growing resource and new author pages are added regularly.
