Book Night - NZ's fun nationwide reading event!
Hello literary festival organisers, educators & book-related organisations!
Book Discussion Scheme want to share with you a new feature of Book Night 2017, which this year is on Tuesday 23 May. In the lead-up to this fun, nationwide reading event for all ages, you can now publicize your own local Book Night activity on our updated Book Night website.
Already a number of organisations have indicated they are planning an activity for Book Night and will be posting their event on the interactive NZ map on the dedicated website. They'd love you to get involved, too! So get your thinking caps on and start planning.... Whether it's an author visit, a literary quiz at a local bar, an indoor picnic at the local library/school or a 'reading on the bus' social media event, we can help publicize it.
Check out bds.org.nz/booknight to see how you can register an event in your local community. This is also the website used by readers to register participation on the night itself (after qualifying by reading for pleasure for 15+ minutes during the evening of 23rd May).
A digital Book Night logo, posters and an info sheet can also be downloaded or requested from the website.
If planning an event doesn't sound doable, Book Discussion Scheme would appreciate your spreading the word about Book Night through your networks and media channels.
