Turbine

Bill Manhire, poet and Director of the International Institute of Modern Letters says about Turbine:

'It's a great name, because turbines do what the greatest works of art achieve: they seize the natural and make it into powerful energy. We hope that the magazine will work like this, and that - like the International Institute of Modern Letters which offers it a home - it will soon be sending its energies right around the planet. I think that established writers will one day look back on Turbine as the place where they got their start, and also find themselves checking out the latest issue to see which new writers are about to join their company.'

Turbine is edited and produced by participants in various writing courses at the IIML, the journal showcases the work of writers associated with the Institute and the wider New Zealand writing community. Turbine is produced annually, and complements established print journals as a fresh way for writers to publish work.

Turbine is hosted and supported in many ways by the New Zealand Electronic Text Centre.
