Bay of Plenty Children's Literature Association

The Bay of Plenty Children's Literature Association Incorporated was formed in 1983, bringing together writers, artists, schoolteachers, librarians, parents and grandparents with a passion for children's literature. The organisation provides an opportunity to learn about the excellence of published authors, and to then promote their literature through various activities for children and parents in the Bay of Plenty. Anyone is welcome to join.

Each year they run young writers' workshops, short story competitions (in conjunction with the Bay of Plenty Times), and hold annual seminars, featuring speakers such as Lynley Dodd, Sherryl Jordan, Tania Roxborogh, Gretchen Brassington (G. Brassi), Margaret Mahy, Betty Gilderdale, Tessa Duder, Roger Hall, Vince Ford, Joy Cowley, and Wheelers Book Club.
