Book Publishers Association of New Zealand Inc (BPANZ)
BPANZ was formed in 1978 by the amalgamation of the Book Publishers Representatives Association (NZ) and the New Zealand Book Publishers Association bringing together those publishers who dealt essentially with books from overseas and those who produced New Zealand books. BPANZ is run by a council of publishers elected annual which meets four times a year.
BPANZ represents the industry on the Board of Copyright Licensing Ltd, the Copyright Council, the New Zealand Book Council and the Montana New Zealand Book Awards Committee. We represent the industry to the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Education, the NZ Trade Development Board, Creative New Zealand, the NZ Society of Authors, Booksellers NZ and other agencies.
BPANZ is also a member of the Asia Pacific Publishers Association and the International Publishers Association.
BPANZ organises stands and displays for members at book fairs and conferences, is involved in market and industry surveys, provides professional development/training courses for members of the industry. It is involved in book design and other publisher awards.
