New Zealand Association of Manuscript Assessors

The New Zealand Association of Manuscript Assessors (NZAMA) is a group of professional editors and writers who offer authors objective advice and guidance on how to bring their work closer to publishable standard. We have all worked in manuscript assessing, editing, and/or the teaching of writing. NZAMA has a code of professional practice and strict entry criteria.

The Association, set up in 2001, has drawn up a set of guidelines and professional standards for this relatively new area of expertise in the New Zealand marketplace.

In recent years publishers have become too busy to write detailed letters to authors who submit manuscripts for publication. The Association brings together a number of individuals who have filled this gap by providing authors - or would-be authors - with reports on their unpublished works.
