New Zealand Writers Guild

The New Zealand Writers Guild is a professional non profit association for writers in the fields of film, television, radio, theatre, video and multi-media. The national office is located in Auckland.

Its main activities include education and skill development, advising Guild members and other industry creatives on rates, contracts, and employment.

It also offers credit arbitration, a registration service, and industry know how. The Guild currently produces a quarterly magazine, Write Up, and publishes a Writers Directory on its website.

In 2001 the New Zealand Writers Guild formed the New Zealand Writers Foundation, a charitable trust dedicated to fostering excellence in storytelling through the creation of outstanding scripts.
