Tasmania Pacific Region Prize

The Tasmania Pacific Region Prize is a $40,000 biennial prize. It is the largest literature prize developed in Australia. The prize is awarded to the best novel by an author who is a resident and/or citizen of Australia, New Zealand or Melanesia.

The winning author, short-listed authors and judges are invited to Tasmania to participate in the Tasmanian Readers’ and Writers’ festival and events - including readings, discussions, lectures and debates - organised by the University of Tasmania, State Library of Tasmania and the Tasmanian Writers’ Centre.

The Tasmania Pacific Region Prize is administered by Arts Tasmania, which is a part of the Department of State Development. Nominations are accepted from publishers.
