This is a humorous book with many instances where children will laugh out loud. Imagine a grandfather who has invented a mind-swapping machine. What happens when a brother ends up inside his older sister’s body? What does he do when he needs to use the bathroom? What happens when the grandfather is inside his dog’s body? Will he really enjoy eating those dog biscuits? Boys in particular will enjoy the ‘toilet’ humour.
The boyfriend scenario makes this probably more appropriate for 10-11 year old readers, especially reluctant readers, because the vocab is not too difficult. It is probably not a read aloud to share with the class but it is a rollicking tale that eventually ends up with everything being restored to normal.
