BURRELL, Paul (1939 - ) is a children's writer, poet and short story writer, and former Auckland Table Tennis representative.He is a popular visitor in schools, demonstrated by this report from Pinehurst School: "Students, teachers and parents were, for a few magical moments, swept into a world of verse, rhythm and rhyme...".
Burrell's books for children include numerous collections of poetry, and a story in verse imaginatively titled Hermie Wormie O.W.E (1998). His poetry titles include a three book series - Yep - Been There volumes 1, 2 and 3.
Other titles include four volumes of The Sea - The Other, four volumes of Rhyme Time, and a series of children's learning aid books.
His poetry has appeard in Angus Inn Pub Poets 3 (1995), Sketching In The Space (1997), Kiwi Kids Collection (2001) and on the Cancer Society's wesite.
Burrell has been a winner of the NZ Weekly News Short Story of the Month Compettition.
