Mary-Jane Duffy is a poet with a background in the cultural and gallery sector. She is one of the four co-authors of the poetry collection Millionaire’s Shortbread (2003). Mike Houlahan remarks that Duffy’s poems ‘use cultural events for reflections that can be wry and fantastical.’ She has had writing published in the journal Sport, and has also written for Booknotes. Mary-Jane Duffy is involved with the Mary Newton Gallery in Wellington, which promotes the work of contemporary artists.

Duffy, Mary-Jane (1964- ) is a poet and arts administrator.
Mary-Jane Duffy has long worked in the museum sector including the Aigantighe Art Gallery, Timaru; the Museum Directors Federation, Wellington; and the City Gallery Wellington. She is currently an art advisor in the public service.
Originally from Southland, Duffy is now known as a Wellington poet. She is one of the four co-authors of the poetry collection Millionaire’s Shortbread (2003). Writing in The Dominion Post Mike Houlahan remarks that Duffy’s poems 'use cultural events for reflections that can be wry and fantastical.' Hamish Wyatt in the Otago Daily Times writes that her 'poems have a bit of a bitter, sharp taste.'

She lives in Paekakariki.
