Craig Marriner is a novelist. His first book Stonedogs (2001) won the Deutz Medal at the Montana New Zealand Book Awards. In 2003 the film rights of this book were sold to Australian production company Mushroom Pictures. His second novel, Southern Style, was released in 2006. Marriner was the Buddle Findlay Fellow in 2004 with novelist Karyn Hay.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Marriner, Craig (1974-) is a novelist. Marriner was born and raised in Rotorua. After leaving school in the seventh form, Marriner went to Australia. Three years later he returned to New Zealand, travelled around for a year, and then left to travel in Europe, Turkey, Amsterdam and Morocco. He lists gold mining, soccer stadium security, MC at a comedy club, and haggling in Istanbul as past employment.
His first book Stonedogs (2001) won the Deutz Medal at the Montana New Zealand Book Awards.
In 2003 literary agent Michael Gifkins sold an option to buy the film rights to Marriner's prize-winning novel Stonedogs to prominent Australian production company Mushroom Pictures.
The Sargeson Trust and national law firm Buddle Findlay awarded novelists Karyn Hay and Craig Marriner Buddle Findlay Sargeson Fellowships in 2004.
Marriner's second novel, Southern Style, was released in 2006.
