Our musician guest in May is TUi MAMAKi.
Tui is a vocal explorer, performer, composer/arranger, born in France, raised in Aotearoa/NZ, and often based in Bulgaria. She can thank her musically adventurous troubadour family for giving her a taste for sounds from far-away places. In following her voice, she has travelled to Pays Basque, India and the Balkans to study traditional vocal techniques and repertoire.
At Inside.Out, Tui will present a rare collection of traditional songs , accompanied by drone instruments, and open to improvisation. Inside.Out is supported by the NZ Society of Authors Auckland Branch, and the venue, One2one Cafe. Koha for musicians please.
May's five-word-challenge: Employ SENSE, MAP, DEEP, FOLLOW, SING in a short piece of writing < 50 words all up and place in the Red Box of Mystery for books and choc bars prizes. Let's hear what you're writing... with your MC Anita Arlov.
