Our friends at the New Zealand Association for the Teaching of English (NZATE) and the New Zealand Society of Authors (NZSA) have worked together with Book Council Programmes Manager Kathryn Carmody to create a 'master list' of suitable books for secondary school English teachers and students.
This list is available for free, to promote and support the reading and teaching of New Zealand literature. It will be updated annually.
Books on this list are written by New Zealand authors and are currently available. Publishing and ISBN details are also given, along with a suggested age range and the themes explored in each text.
Download the list by clicking here.
Many of the authors of books on this list are available to to visit your school through our Writers in Schools programme. Click here for more information.
