This great re-telling of purakau works extremely well in this graphic novel format. The engaging illustrations will be instantly appealing to all age groups. The level of reo also allows for a wide range of ages to read it confidently.
As well as being an excellent book to read just for enjoyment, it also would be a useful addition to teaching resources in classrooms. It would be an excellent example for students designing their own re-telling of myths or legends, a useful title in a junior guided reading programme, and a prompt at the beginning of an art project.
Highly engaging with huge appeal, a great addition to any school library and as a teaching resource.
